PPP a philosophy: Farzana

LAHORE Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) chairperson Farzana Raja has said the PPP was a philosophy to serve the poor masses as thousands of its workers have sacrificed to protect and enhance this philosophy. Addressing a public gathering at Dera Ghazi Khan, she said that Benazir Bhutto wanted to give the people their rights. She said it was the commitment of Benazir towards the poor and downtrodden segments of the country that she would never left them alone and now her party was fulfilling the same commitment by serving the poor. She also distributed cheques among 120 families under Waseela-e-Haq initiative and launched poverty survey in DG Khan and Rajan Pur areas on Sunday. She said that the present democratic government was fighting with poverty and terrorism simultaneously. In regard with combating with terrorism, I would like to salute the role of Pakistan Army and its huge sacrifices as well, she remarked. Federal Minister for Health Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din, Senator Sardar Latif Khosa, Uzma Bukhari MPA and Shibli Shabkhez Ghauri, the president of PPP district DG Khan were also present on the occasion.
