LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced to waive off markup on the lease of land in Cholistan. The CM Tuesday inaugurated Shadbad Modern Cooperative livestock farming project in Noor Sar Balochan in Cholistan which will cost Rs 47.92 crore. Addressing a public meeting at Cholistan, the Shahbaz announced waiving off the amount of markup on the extension of lease period of land. He said that in return for this, he demands from Cholistani farmers to cultivate their land with hard work for increasing produce. He said that govt will bear all expenditure of the modern livestock farming whereas Cholistanis will have proprietary rights. He said that five farms of modern cooperative farming will be completed within next two months and the promises made to Cholistanis will be honoured. He said that Punjab government is sincere in safeguarding the rights of the people of Cholistan and besides modern livestock farming, education, health and other basic facilities are being ensured in the area. He said that modern livestock farming will help improve economic condition of Cholistanis. He was informed that 2500 acres land has been allocated for five Shadbad cooperative livestock farms where drinking water as well as other facilities have been made available. Earlier, the CM inaugurated USF Cholistan project of Telenor Mobile Company which will cost Rs.70 crore and result in availability of mobile phone service to the people of Cholistan over 23000sq km. Meanwhile the CM held separate meetings with PML(N) parliamentarians and the Office bearers and workers in Ahmadpur Sharqia Tuesday and discussed development projects in the area as well as party the affairs. The CM informed them about the solid strategy Punjab government is implementing for the uplift of far-flung and remote areas and said, development of Ahmadpur Sharqia and solution to the problems of the people of the area hold priority. He said that workers are the party asset and their proposals will be given importance. He said that it was the PML workers who faced oppression and cruelties under the dictatorial regime but remained steadfast in their support for their Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that PML (N) workers should spare no efforts for the welfare of the people and solution of their problems. The office-bearers and workers of PML apprised the Chief Minister of their problems. Provincial Minister for Special Education Muhammad Iqbal Channar, Memebrs National Assembly Baleegh-ur-Rehman, Ch. Saood Majeed, Sharin Arshad, Parveen Masood Bhatti, Members Provincial Assembly Ch. Mumtaz Ahmad Jaja, Jehanzeb Waran, Senator Pervez Rashid, leaders and workers of PML as well as officers of Divisional and District administration were also present.
