Paramedics ready to protest on 6th

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Punjab Paramedics Alliance on Monday demanded immediate issuance of a notification of service structure passed by the Punjab Assembly and approved by the Punjab chief minister during the last year. Addressing a press conference after the general council meeting of paramedics at the PMA House, Chairman Malik Munir Ahmed said that the paramedics would organise rallies and demonstration on May 6 at divisional level to press for the demand. He said that the Punjab Assembly passed the bill on February 2, 2010 and the CM granted approval after a week but the Health Department was not issuing a notification even after a lapse of one and a half years. He urged the government to issue the notification to stop paramedics from going to the extent of polio campaign starting on May 9. He said that the paramedics would hold rallies outside press clubs at divisional level on May 13 and also stage a sit-in outside the Chief Minister Secretariat and commit suicide on May 18.
