170 more dengue patients reported

LAHORE - Dengue fever patients continued to pour in public sector hospitals and private healthcare centres across the province including the City. On Tuesday, as many as 170 new dengue fever patients were reported from across the province and out of these 147 were from the provincial metropolis. According to the reports of Punjab Health Department, so far 2129 dengue fever patients have been reported from across the province and out of these 1825 are from the provincial metropolis. According to the report, 1998 dengue patients have returned to their homes after recovery while 170 are still under treatment in various hospitals. Meanwhile, 49 cases of dengue fever have been reported from private hospitals, 16 from Mayo Hospital, 11 from Jinnah Hospital, two from Services Hospital, one from Post Graduate Medical Institute, 40 from Sheikh Zyed Hospital, one from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, five from Institute of Public Health, two from Government Nawaz Sharif Hospital, six from Mian Munshi Hospital, 14 from Lahore General Hospital, two from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, two from Federal Government Medical Centre, one from Fouji Foundation Hospital, one from Fatima Memorial Hospital. As many as 10 dengue fever patients have been reported from Faisalabad, two from Mianwali and five from Narowal. The Punjab Health Department has claimed to address over 400 complaints received at the helpline on Tuesday. Most of these complaints were relating to insecticide spray while a number of patients were provided guidance by doctors about the symptoms and preventive measures against dengue fever. Some patients were also admitted in different hospitals. Besides Lahore, people from Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot and other cities also contacted the helpline operating round the clock. Complaints concerning government hospitals about the patients can also be lodged on the helpline.
