LAHORE - Owing to absence of district authorities at Sunday bazaars, vegetable and fruit seller overcharged the consumers.
The district management was busy Muharram related security and other arrangements, providing opportunity to the sellers to loot the consumers at city markets. Increasing trend in the prices of majority of vegetables was continued amid the unavailability or shortage of summer season vegetables in markets. Potato fresh price was increased by Rs one per kg, fixed at Rs 55 to 58 per kg, Potato stored fixed at Rs 29 to 31 per kg, while sugar free was sold at Rs 60.
The price of onion was reduced by Re one per kg, fixed at Rs 24 to 26 per kg, mixed sold at Rs 30 per kg. The price of tomato fixed at Rs 31 to 33 per kg, sold at Rs 35 per kg, Garlic, China, price stable at Rs 112 to 116 per kg, Garlic local was gained by Rs 2 per kg, fixed at Rs 122 to 126 per kg, sold at Rs 130 per kg. Ginger Singapore was fixed at Rs 182 to 190 per kg, Ginger China at 275 to 283 per kg, Ginger India at Rs 98 to 102 per kg, Ginger Thailand at Rs 162 to 168 per kg, while Indian was sold at Rs 2400 per kg. Brinjal price was increased by Rs 2 per kg fixed at Rs 24 to 25 per kg, sold at Rs 30 per kg. Cucumber local was fixed at Rs 59 to 62 per kg while farm was sold at Rs 65 per kg. Pumpkin price was increased by Rs 3 per kg, fixed at Rs 37 to 39 per kg, sold at Rs 40 to 45 per kg. Luffa price was fixed at Rs 57 to 60 per kg, but not sold there.
Pea rate was gained by Rs 45 per kg, fixed at Rs 165 to 173 per kg, sold at Rs 180 to 200 per kg. Capsicum price was increased by Rs 25 per kg, fixed at Rs 98 to 104 per kg, sold at Rs 110 to 120 per kg. Prices of Green chilli local was fixed at Rs 62 to 675per kg, green chili farm price was fixed at Rs 39 to 41 per kg with an increase of Rs 9 per kg, sold at Rs 80 per kg. Spinach was increased by Rs 6 per kg, fixed at Rs 29 to 31 per kg, sold at Rs 30 to 35 per kg. Ladyfinger price was gained by Rs 9 per kg, fixed at Rs 45 to 47 per kg, but not sold there.
Lemon Chinese was increased by Rs 8 per kg, fixed at Rs 67 to 70 per kg, sold at Rs 80 per kg. Turnip was fixed at Rs 39 to 41 per kg, sold at Rs 50 per kg, carrot local increased by Rs 13 per kg, fixed at Rs 55 per kg, and carrot china by Rs 3 per kg, fixed at Rs 78 per kg, radish at Rs 17 to 18 per kg, sold at Rs 30 per kg, and methi gained by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 55 to 58 per kg, sold at Rs 60 per kg. The prices of different variety of apple were fixed at Rs 41 to 114 per kg while sold in the range of Rs 60 to 120 per kg in makeshift markets. Banana A quality was fixed at Rs 57 to 60 per dozen, and B quality at Rs 33 to 35 per dozen, while B-quality was sold at Rs 55 per dozen in makeshift markets. Grapes sunderkhani was fixed at Rs 190 to 198 per kg, sold at Rs 200 to 220 per kg, and grapes gola at Rs 98 to 103 per kg sold at Rs 120 to 140 per kg, grapes tofi at Rs 158 to 165 per kg, sold at Rs 170 to 180 per kg. The price of guava was fixed at Rs 68 to 72 per kg, while sold at Rs 100 per kg.
