Dowry funds for 250 girls

LAHORE - The federal government will give dowry funds of Rs 20,000 each to 250 poor girls in the provincial metropolis to enable them to tie the knot. An announcement in this regard was made by Federal Minister Samina Ghurki, who is also president of the PPP City chapter, at a party meeting here on Saturday. Ten girls will be chosen from each zone of the City. Addressing the participants, the minister said the PPP had never come to power through backdoor, and would not let anyone use this course. She claimed that former president Pervez Musharraf would not come back to Pakistan, notwithstanding his claims to the contrary. She said conspirators would not succeed in their designs to pull down the government. Faiza Malik, Tahir Khaleeq, Nargis Khan and Akbar Khan were also present on the occasion.
