LAHORE - Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahad Khan Cheema has awarded major and minor penalties to 12 officers and officials on account of their involvement in fake transfer of plots bearing No 181, 196 and 223 of F-1 Block, Johar Town.
Three officers and an official including former Revenue Director Haroon Rashid, Assistant Director (Identification) Muhammad Yasin, Assistant Director Computer Mian Ashfaq and Junior Clerk Naseem Abbas have been awarded major penalty of compulsory retirement from service, whereas data entry operator Bilal Rahat and junior clerk Akhtar Mumtaz have been dismissed from service.
Computer Officers Mehmood Miraj and Yasir Iftikhar have been awarded minor penalty of stoppage of one increment for three years. Two increments for two years have been stopped for senior clerk Arif Younis. Muhammad Usman, Assistant Director Computer has been awarded minor penalty of stoppage of one increment for one year.
Major penalty of forfeiture of past three years’ service has been awarded to Mian Azam Hussain, Assistant Director Accounts, whereas Deputy Director Afzal Bhatt, and junior clerk Muhammad Amjad have been exonerated as no charge could be established against them.
CASE AGAINST LAWYER: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal has directed to register FIR against a lawyer Mian Amir Abbas on detection of two fake domicile certificates.
The DCO advised the public to adopt legal way where they could save money and their respect. Earlier, it was disclosed that two students Ummah Saleem and Fahad Saleem paid Rs 2,200 to the accused lawyer for domicile certificate while legal fee was only Rs 200. The lawyer got fake signatures of AC (city) Saira Umar on the certificates.
Also, the DCO banned the passenger vehicles to enter Raiwind city and standing outside the new built General Bus stand by imposing section 144. He warned the violators of legal action in this regard.
