More rains ahead

LAHORE   - Parts of the country received rainfall of varying intensities with snowfall over the hills on Monday while experts predicted the prevailing conditions will persist during the next couple of days. 
Widespread rain (with snow over the hills) occurred in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and at isolated places of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Kohat, D I Khan, D G Khan, Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Makran divisions.
The prevailing system would provide more rains with snowfall over the hills in Khyber PK, Islamabad, upper Punjab and Kashmir during the next couple of days.

Gupis and Drosh remained coldest places in the country where mercury dropped 05 degree Celsius below freezing point. Mercury dropped to -03 C in Kalat and Astore.  Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 17 C and 09 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 73 per cent.
According to the experts, western disturbance is affecting upper parts of the country.
Local meteorological department has forecast rain (with snowfall over the hills) at scattered places of Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and at isolated places of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Quetta, Zhob and Kalat divisions during the next couple of days.

On Monday, Abbotabad received 69 mm rain, Lower Dir 67 mm, Pattan 59 mm, Balakot 49 mm, Parachinar 47 mm, Saidu Sharif 46 mm, Kalam 44 mm, Malamjabba and Muzaffarabad 43 mm each, Dir 41 mm, Rawalakot 40 mm, Garhidupatta 35 mm, Drosh 32 mm, Islamabad and Turbat 23 mm each, Murree 21
