ETPB chief for probing Nankana incident

LAHORE - Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq Sunday requested the Punjab government for fast-track investigation into the November 25, 2015 Nankana Sahib incident to fix responsibility.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the incident was a serious matter and he had written to the provincial government for an inquiry.
Some elements desecrated Janamasthan Baba Guru Nanak, a sacred place for Sikhs, and held a federal minister with other guests hostage, besides disturbing security arrangements made for the Sikh pilgrims, he said.
The chairman said that in a meeting of ETPB and Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee law and order situation was reviewed and participants expressed concerns over the poor situation of security. Chairman ETPB said that as per policy off present government he have spent Rs, 101 millions.
He urged the provincial government to take strict action against the officials of district administration and police, who had failed to perform their duties properly.
President Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Shaam Sing, Secretary Board Ikramul Haq and other officials were also present at the press conference.
