LAHORE - Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Amin Wains has said that the Lahore police have made extraordinary security arrangements under the slogan “We Protect, You Pray” to ensure peace and harmony in the holy month of Ramazan.
He said that since Ramazan is the month of worship, prayers, and blessings, it the responsibility of the police to provide peaceful environment and best security to the worshippers. He also urged the policemen that serving humanity is also a noble cause and a great job. Therefore, the policemen particularly the Admin Officers must leave no stone unturned to help people get justice. The basic purpose of appointment of Admin Officers in police stations was to immediately redress the grievances and problems of the ordinary citizens with due respect, he added.
The Lahore police chief expressed these views while addressing a meeting held to review the performance of Admin Officers at Al-Hamra Hall (No III) here on Friday. SP CIA Muhammad Omar Virk and columnist Dr Ajmal Niazi were also present on this occasion.
The CCPO said that it is imperative to provide best environment and due respect to the visitors and complainants at the police stations in order to root-out Thana culture. He stressed upon the admin officers to help ordinary people and solve their problems. He also noted that since the project of Admin Officers had been launched in Lahore, the department was receiving less and even a few complaints regarding police behaviour. The CCPO warned that strict action would be taken against the police officers and officials if they tried to use delaying tactics in resolving the genuine issues of ordinary complainants. He said that the concerned SHOs and Admin Officers would have to face the music in case of public complaints against the police attitude or behavior. Strict disciplinary action would be taken against admin officers and the SHO if they failed to ensure immediate registration of crimes cases related to robbery, dacoity, and theft.
