LAHORE The attack on Freedom Flotilla by Israel is an attack on media and humanity. It reflects ugly designs of Israel against innocent people of Palestine. These views were expressed by Prof Dr Mughe-esuddin Sheikh while addressing a seminar 'Attack on Freedom Flotilla - Background and Consequences at the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), Punjab University here on Thursday. Mughees said that this sad event had internationalised the Gaza siege crisis and the miseries of Palestinian. Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) can only be effective when rulers of all Islamic countries become true representative of their masses, he remarked and added if any Islamic country had done this she might have been attacked by now. Javed Iqbal said that journalists duty was to unfold true story behind all events. While referring to the war on terror, he maintained that many countries were fighting proxy war in Pakistan. He further said that our media had focused all its attention on local issues therefore sometimes international issues did not find space in it. Renowned analyst Mansoor Jaffer said that Israel attack on aid fleet in international waters carrying food and other things for Gaza people should be eye opening for the Muslim countries.
