OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A man has been arrested in connection with the gruesome rape-cum-murder of a 9-year-old girl, police said on Friday. The incident had occurred in the Shadbagh Area. The arrested man was identified as Shabbir, a lath machine operator. He is said to be a resident of the area where the murder took place, the polce said. Some other sources in the police department said that the arrested mans name is Nasir. An official with the Shadbagh police station, however, strongly denied the arrest. Sources quoted earlier, however, claimed that the arrested accused has been kept at some unknown location where he was being interrogated in connection with the girls murder. The resident of Gundi Bombian, Eesha Hussain was found murdered inside a gowdown situated few hundreds meters away from her residence one day after she went missing. She had left her house on Wednesday afternoon to fetch some edibles from a nearby shop. Meanwhile, Crimes Investigations Agency (CIA) police have arrested a fraudulent and proclaimed offender involved in several cases of fraud in real estate business, a police spokesman said here Friday. According to an official handout, the alleged fraudulent Mian Nisar Ahmed was wanted to the police in eight cases of fraud registered against him in Gujjarpura police station. The police said that the accused used to sell fake property files to innocent people and minted millions of rupees in this business. Further investigations are underway. Youth killed for 'honour: A 29-year-old youth was shot dead for honour allegedly by four persons in Chung police precincts in the wee hours of Friday. Police said the deceased was subjected to severe torture before the killers gunned him down. The deceased was identified as Murtaza Ali, son of Jahangir Ali, and resident of Kibria Town. Police said that the four identified accused, who were also the victims neighbours, called Murtaza from home on Thursday night. Murtaza left his house to meet his friends but never returned. The victims family later informed the police. On early Friday, a passer-by spotted the dead body of Murtaza in Kibria Town and informed the police which shifted the body to morgue. A police official said that the youth was first subjected to severe torture and was later shot dead. He suspected that the man had been killed over having relations with a girl, a relative of the accused persons. However, further investigations would reveal the motive behind the killing. Chung police also conducted raids to arrest the accused persons but failed to arrest any of them till filing of this report as they had fled the area by locking their homes. A case of murder has been registered against four nominated accused persons namely Sharafat Ali, Abid, Irfan and Sapraan on the complaint of deceaseds mother Noor Bibi. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy. 7 injured in accidents: Seven persons were injured in road accidents in different areas of the City on Friday. As per details, a car was overturned at Zahoor Elahi Road which left all the five members in the car injured. The injured were identified as Anam, 22, Sobia, 20, Nadeem, 12, Kiran, 25, and Surayya Begum, 45. They all were shifted to a nearby hospital by the Edhi workers and were said to be out of danger. Meanwhile, Rukhsana and Riaz were going on their bike when a car hit them from behind near Services Hospital. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where their condition were said to be out of danger while the car fled away from the scene.
