Blackwater responsible for minister murder, claims JI

LAHORE Terming murder of Shahbaz Bhatti an attempt to divert attention from Raymond Davis issue and get relief for the American, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has said hundreds and thousands of CIA spies were attacking army under the guise of Taliban as part of conspiracy to destabilise Pakistan. Speaking at Issue of the Day programme here at Hameed Nizami Hall on Thursday, he held Blackwater responsible for the assassination of Shahbaz Bhatti, saying it was a pity that Federal Minister Rehman Malik was playing the role of US spokesman and clarifying the position of the superpower on each and every occasion. Nawa-i-Waqt, TheNation and Waqt TV organised the programme on 'Raymond Davis case, US interference and responsibility of the government. Syed Munawar Hasan said Punjab government had shown criminal negligence in arrest of driver and recovery of vehicle that crushed innocent motorcyclist at Mozang Chungi. He urged the government to register case against the US Consulate General in Lahore, saying the people would have the right to besiege the Consulate in the government failed to fulfil its responsibility. He said the Muslims and especially Pakistanis have been labelled as terrorist with the aim to declare Pakistan a failed state and capture her nuclear arsenal. He said the US, India and Israel were behind the conspiracy against Pakistan and her nuclear capability. He said it was a pity that US President Barrack Obama was speaking in favour of killer of innocent people and the rulers were merely acting as stooge of the superpower. He urged the nation to continue its pressure on the rulers as it would stop the government from releasing Raymond Davis. He urged the armed forces to take interest in Raymond Davis case as it was issue of national importance. He urged the rulers to come out of the US alliance on war on terror as it was the solution to the prevailing problems. He also stressed upon ending military operation in tribal areas, saying that efforts had proved futile exercise in the past. Coming hard on the rulers, Munawar Hasan said the public was getting hope of good future after general elections but present regime had even surpassed Musharraf in anti-people policies. He said people had even forgotten a dictator due to policies and attitude of President Zardari. He said the US and NATO forces had miserably failed to defeat poor and resource less people in Afghanistan. But, he said, the rulers in Pakistan had failed to stop drone attacks in tribal areas. He urged the people to come out and raise voice for their rights and honour of the country.
