LAHORE – The Chief Traffic Officer SSP Sarfaraz Ahmad Falki on Saturday claimed to have chalked out a comprehensive plan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on the eve of Family Fun Race and Marathon Race on Sunday.
The races are set to start from Qaddafi Stadium and cover adjoining areas of Gulberg and Model Town. City’s Traffic Police spokesman Ali Nawaz said that 11 DSPs, 15 Inspectors and 398 wardens will discharge their duty under the direct supervision of two SPs on this occasion. He further said seven ordinary small parking stands have been established near Punjab Sports Boards for parking of the vehicles of participants and families. “No motorbike rider or even pedestrian would be allowed on the specified routes,” he said.
The Family Fun Race will start from Siddique Center and pass through Fountain Chowk, Origa Chowk, K-Chowk, Gulberg Center and Liberty Roundabout.
Similarly, the Marathon Race will start from Qaddafi Stadium take a route from Kalma Chowk, Signal Jevan Hana, Barkat Market, New Campus Bridge, Underpass Gulzaar Bridge, Underpass Ichra, Underpass FC Bridge, Underpass Jail Road, Underpass Mall Road, U-Turn from Sultan Point to Canal, FC to Zahoor Elahi Road, Haali Chowk, Chin One Chowk and will concluded at Small Qaddafi.
