LAHORE: Factory Area Police on Monday claimed to have smashed a network of drug-peddlers by arresting its ringleader during a successful operation in the downtown. The police also seized one-kilogram heroin.
A Lahore police spokesman said that a massive crackdown is underway against the drug dealers on the directions of DIG (Operations) Rana Abdul Jabbar to make Lahore a drug free city. A police team headed by SHO Factory Area Safdar Sajjad conducted raids in the locality on a tip-off and arrested notorious drug dealer, Waseem alias Kala. According to officials, SP Cantonment division Omar Riaz has been leading the operation against drug dealers.–Staff Reporter
