LAHORE – Lahore Division Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik on Monday ordered the Rescue-1122 director general to present feasibility report regarding the setting up of a rescue station at Ferozpur Road, Industrial Area.
He said this while presiding over a meeting with the representatives of Ferozepur Road Industrial Association at Commissioner’s Office, on Monday.
Earlier, Ferozepur Road Industrial Association chairman presented petitions to the commissioner and MNA Pervaiz Malik about the problems being faced by the industrialists regarding the non-existence of a Rescue-1122 station, rehabilitation and construction of road and sewerage system and the security of the area.
At this, the commissioner directed the Nishtar Town TMO to submit a detailed estimate report on the construction of Anum Road so that construction of road might be started at the earliest. He also directed WASA managing director to present an extensive report after examining the drainage and sewerage system at Ferozepur Road Industrial area and further directed that the cleanliness in the area will be the responsibility of the WASA.
The commissioner directed the DIG (Operations) to increase security and police patrolling in the area so that the local people might have their activities of daily life without any hindrance or lot. He further directed the representatives of the association to beautify the roads of their respective industrial areas by developing green belts on both sides of the road and to entrust the duty of maintenance of the same to a committee set up by industrialists community.
Speaking on that occasion, MNA Pervaiz Malik said the government was striving hard to solve the problems being faced by the industrialists’ community and assured that their problems would be solved on priority basis.
The meeting was also attended by special assistant to the chief minister M Ali Mian, Secretary Industries, Secretary Environment, DCO, WASA managing director and other officers concerned.
ACTION AGAINST PROFITEERS: District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal said there would be no compromise on the prices and quality of essential items and if anyone found guilty in it, he would be treated as per law.
He said the price control magistrates had been paying their surprise visits to different shops and checking the quality and prices of essential items. Moreover, the magistrates paid surprise raids at 300 shops of essential items. They challaned 38 shopkeepers due to overcharging and imposed Rs 31,900 fine on violators while four FIRs were got registered against these shopkeepers.
Meanwhile, the officers of City District Government Lahore (CDGL) were continuing anti-dengue campaign activities in their concerned towns for the elimination of dengue. The officers of CDGL visited 51 graveyards, 75 junkyards, 70 under construction building, 140 tyre shops and checked the presence of dengue larva. However, dengue larva was found on 07 places which were sprayed later on and the larva was eliminated.
The DCO said the officers of CDGL were performing their duties whole heartedly and they were checking sensitive and suspected places and if larva is found, it is eliminated with spray.
Furthermore, Mengal said the CDGL had been utilising all its resource to promote games in City. He expressed these views while checking arrangements for arm wrestling game at Galib Market Ground along with MPA Dr Saeed Elahi. He said sports activity was necessary for the composition of a healthy society.
He urged upon the youngsters to take interest in sports as it kept the youths away from bad habits. On this occasion the DCO showed his satisfaction over arrangements carried out by Gulberg Town Municipal Administration.
Earlier, the DCO arrived Lahore after completing his seven days official tour to South Korea and he performed his official duty in his office. He declared his visit to South Korea for participating Mayor Conference as successful.
