LAHORE – A ceremony regarding distribution of equipment among special people was held on Monday at the Government In-service Teachers Training College for Disabled Children.
The equipment material has been donated by Helping Hands Rehabilitation and Development (HHRD), an NGO. The HHRD has distributed the supportive equipments – 78 wheelchairs, hearing aids, walkers, etc – to special schoolchildren of Lahore district as pilot project.
The material was provided under an MoU signed between the Special Education Department and the HHRD. To facilitate the deserving population of Pakistan, the HHRD also working for the establishment of comprehensive physical rehabilitation centres at Nishter Town, Lahore.
Special Education Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal, HHRD Country Director Fazlur Rehman, Rehabilitation Program Managing Director Syed Muhammad Ilyas, Adviser Khalid Naeem, and Government In-service Teachers Training College for Disabled Children principal Fazal Abbas Rana, Special Education Director Afifa Iftikhar and Programme Organiser Sania Awais were also present on the occasion.
