LAHORE - Foundation stone of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), the biggest project of the country with regard to kidney and liver diseases, will be laid during current month.
This was announced by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif speaking to the Board of Governors of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Center on Tuesday. The meeting also gave approval to the appointment of legal consultant for the project. The chief minister said that the initial master plan of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute has been prepared. He said the institute will be state-of-the-art in South Asia where modern treatment facilities will be available to kidney and liver patients under one roof.
The chief minister directed that after laying foundation stone of the building of the institute, construction work should be carried out round the clock as this project will have to be completed within stipulated period. He said free treatment will be provided to the deserving patients in the institute. He said that a company of international standard should be appointed with regard to medical equipment and machinery.
He said that like other projects of Punjab government, this project will also be a masterpiece of standard, transparency and speed. President Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute Dr Saeed Akhter informed about various matters relating to the project.
