LAHORE - The City remained in the grip of muggy weather on Tuesday with experts predicting the prevailing conditions to persist during the next 2-3 days.
Lack of rains and winds caused considerable increase in the mercury level with high humidity making the weather oppressive, causing people to sweat profusely throughout the day.
Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 35 degree Celsius and 26C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 65 per cent.
Nokkundi remained the hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 44C. Maximum temperature in Dalbandin was recorded 43C, Sibbi 42C and Sukkur 41C.
According to the experts, seasonal low lies over northwest Baluchistan and adjoining areas. Under the influence of this low pressure, weak monsoon currents are penetrating into northeastern parts of the country.
The local meteorological department has forecast hot and humid weather for most parts of the country during the next 2-3 days. However, rain-thundershower is expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Islamabad, upper FATA (Parachinar), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
