OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Police investigators have confirmed the dacoit killed on Sunday night in Gulshan Iqbal Police precincts during crossfire was gunned down by the firing of his own accomplice. 22-year-old snatcher was gunned down shortly after he along with his unidentified accomplice intercepted three women and started looting them on gunpoint at Nishtar Block in Gulshan Ravi police precincts on Saturday night. A senior officer said that three women belonging to the family of one trader Bilal Shafi while riding a car (LEH-603) approached their home (603-Nishtar Block) late on Saturday night. However, two dacoits were already chasing them, who intercepted them in front of their house and signaled them to come out, SP Operations Muntazir Mehdi said. He said the bullet was shot fired by his own accomplice. In fact, a youth belonging to the same victim family after seeing the complex situation opened firing from the top of the building, which was retaliated in the same manner, said the SP, adding however, the youth rushed down and again engaged in firing. During this crossfire, one of the dacoits namely Zia was shot dead. Muntazir Mehdi further said that the FIR has been lodged against unidentified accused with no arrest till filing of this report. According to him, the body has been removed to the City morgue to ascertain the piercing point of the bullet. Further investigations are underway. KILLED?ON ROAD:?A 50-year-old unidentified man was knocked down on Bund Road in Badamibagh police area. According to the details, the man, yet to be identified, was crossing the road when a speeding truck (ZBT-3764) hit the man, leaving him in pool of blood. Later, the body was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Police, however, have impounded the truck and arrested the drive for further investigations.
