Self-immolation threat against police attitude

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 45-year-old widow has threatened self-immolation against the police attitude, alleging that the policemen are protecting the killers of her husband and three other family members. While addressing a news conference here at Lahore Press Club on Monday, Munawar Parveen told reporters that one Niamat Ali alias Bahadra along with his seven other accomplices had gunned down her husband and three other men in April 2010. She said that the Mughalpura investigations police declared three accused as innocent who were nominated in the murder case of her husband. A couple of days ago, she said, the killers of her husband appeared outside her house and resorted to aerial firing. She said that the accused are threatening her family of dire consequences but the police are reluctant to take action against them. The resident of Mughalpura, Munawar Bibi has also appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Punjab Chief Minister to provide protection to her family.
