LAHORE – A police torture victim family from Jehlum staged a strong protest demonstration against the District Police Officer (DPO) here outside Lahore Press Club.
Resident of Sheen Mohalla, Tehsil Deena, Javed Iqbal, told reporters here that DPO Jehlum Tayyab Hafeez Cheema had implicated his entire family in fake criminal cases.
He also alleged that the DPO was patronizing the gangsters and proclaimed offenders in the area. He demanded the Chief Minister and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab to order an independent inquiry into the incident so that they could be provided justice.
He further said that the DPO would be held responsible if his family members and attacked or kidnapped by gunmen.
