Shehbaz says educators are builders of a nation

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute to teachers on the World Teachers’ Day.

In his message, the chief minister said: “Teachers are builders of a nation and educating youth is a form of worship and a national responsibility.”

“Teachers apprise students of the purpose of their life and the way to live honourably. Teachers give direction to the thinking of students and play the most important role in the life of a child after his parents,” he added.

According to a handout, the CM said that purpose of observing day is to highlight the importance of the role of teachers in a society.

“Education is essential for progress and prosperity of a country and the knowledge imparted by teachers to students leaves its impact on the whole society. Teachers are benefactor of the nation and deserve respect of every member of the society. Only those nations are successful in the world as have quality educational facilities and the future of those nations is insecure as lag behind in education sector,” his message read.

It further added: “Wars in future will not be fought with guns and tanks but with ideas and inventions. He said that Punjab is the only province where computer labs have been set up at school level and facilities of modern education have become available to the children of the poor, farmers and labourers.

The CM said: “It is due to blessings of Allah Almighty, prayers of his parents and the hard work of his teachers that he has achieved the present status and he fully respects teachers of the whole country. He said that there is a need to ensure respect of teachers by every segment of the society.”
