SHOs to SPs ordered to be on 6-10pm patrol

LAHORE - CCPO Ch Shafique Ahmed has directed all Divisional SPs to identify crime-prone areas in their respective divisions and immediately enhance patrolling in such pockets.
He further directed Divisional SPs to personally patrol these areas during these hours as well as regularly check patrolling by QRF and Muhafiz squads.
He ordered Divisional SPs to personally visit crime scenes and also monitor the performance of officials of QRF patrolling squad. This was disclosed by CCPO Lahore while reviewing crime of Lahore in crime meeting today at police lines Qila Gujjar Singh. The meeting was attended by DIG Inv Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Ops Rana Abdul Jabbar, SSP Inv Abdul Rab, SSP I&D Sohail Ahmad Sukhera, CTO Lahore and all divisional SPs of operations and investigation wing. CCPO directed to all divisional SPs to prepare the list of these personalities who can become a target for target killers and it will be ensured that fool proof security be provided to these personalities.
DIG investigation and Operations told the CCPO while giving him detailed briefing about the crime control policy and performance of operations and Investigation wing that during the first three months of current year police have arrested more than 700 hundred dacoits of 395 dacoit gangs. Police have also recovered the looted property and illegal weapons amounting to rupees 65 crores from their possession. They apprised the CCPO that during the operations against narcotics sellers police have arrested 2005 narcotics sellers during different raids and recovered 82 Kg white powder (heroin), 500 hundred Kg hashes 21 Kg afune and 25358 bottles of  liquor worth rupees crores from their possession. While briefing on proclaimed offenders they told the CCPO that more than 7000 proclaimed offenders and court absconder were arrested during first three months of year 2014. He also directed that it should be ensured that all the officers from the rank of SHO to SP be on roads from 6pm to 10pm to control street crime. Ch. Shafique ahmad has warned SDPOs and SHOs that strict action will be taken against them if any complain regarding narcotics and gambling will be received. He appreciated efforts of SP Ops and Inv Cantt for arresting dacoit gangs and other hardened involved in heinous crime.–Staff Reporter
