Formula for MOs promotion presented

LAHORE: General Cadre Doctors Association has presented three-point formula for resolving the issue of delay in promotion of 75 MOs/WMOs as Senior Registrars (SRs) in teaching cadre.
At a meeting of Executive Council of GCDA held on Wednesday with President Dr Masood Sheikh in the chair, the participants believed that the issue could be resolved by following the formula.
Giving details of the formula, Dr Masood Sheikh said that those who have deposited ACRs to the pre-departmental selection committee should be promoted after rectifying the error in the list. Only thing the department needed to do is to see ACRs again and get necessary correction in the list.  He said that those whose ACR’s are deficient should be called to complete the file within five days. He said that posting plan should be made after promoting these 75 doctors as hurried decision would create problems for leftovers. Those posted earlier will get main posts while the remaining will be offered to those recommended in the second list.
Dr Masood Sheikh said that posting plan should be doctors friendly, with as less displacement as possible. Specialist already serving in different capacities in districts should be given preference and there should be minimum displacements.–Staff Reporter
Dr Rana Rafique said that these doctors should also be given opportunity of posting in the same institution, and in case of more candidates at least in the same city. He said that displacement to far flung areas will cause problems for doctors.–Staff Reporter
