In memory of Bhutto

LAHORE - The PPP observed 87th birth anniversary of party founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Z.A Bhutto with simplicity in view of the Peshawar tragedy.
Though a few cake cutting ceremonies were also held in the City to mark the day, the event was kept a low profile affair as a whole.  Speaking at a party function, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that the birthday anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto has been observed with simplicity as per the decision of the top party leadership.
Paying rich tributes to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, he said that party founder granted the people of Pakistan right of vote on the basis of adult franchise for the first time. Now the parliamentarians were directly elected by them unlike in the past when they were elected by the BD members who then constituted the Electoral College, he added.
Wattoo said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave constitution to the nation which kept the federation intact despite many ups and downs in the past.
He strongly condemned the attack of misguided miscreants who attacked the people and the media who gathered in Lahore to show their respect to Salman Taseer. He demanded the Punjab government culprits must be apprehended for exemplary punishment.
At the cake cutting ceremony held at party’s provincial secretariat in Model Town, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Sohail Milk, Faiza Malik, Jahan Ara Wattoo, Shahida Jabeen, Bushra Malik, Yasmeen Farooq, Jehanzaib Barki, Javed Akhtar, Manzoor Maneka, Abid Siddiqui, Khalid But, Dr. Bangash were present among party workers.
