SC moved against women’s reserved seats in NA

lahore - A writ petition has been filed in Supreme Court Lahore Registry challenging 30 percent reserved seats in National Assembly for the women.
Tariq Aziz, a local resident, filed the petition and submitted that Article 226 of the Constitution permitted secret balloting but the elections were not held on reserved seats for women and women were nominated by political parties.
The petitioner said this nomination was not election and thus, they were not representatives of the people of the country.
The petitioner requested the court to declare all reserved seats as illegal and direct the government to take all perks and privileges back from them.
