LAHORE - A writ petition on Wednesday was moved to the District and Sessions Court seeking registration of a criminal case against Lahore Railways Station Division Superintendent, Station Master, No-Parking contractor and other two unknown persons allegedly involved in looting general public.
The petitioner-lawyer advocate Ch Shoaib Saleem filed the suit submitting that the railways concerned official had established makeshift structure outside Railways Station and openly were looting and minting money from the general public. The petitioner said that an alleged mafia was working there without any fear. He said he reached at the station along with his aged mother when suddenly a lifter appeared from behind and snatched his bike, putting it on their lifter and drove it away toward one side of the station.
The petitioner lawyer said that the respondents took his bike in their illegal custody and demanded him to pay Rs 200, beside used an abusive language against him when he asked them to give his back to him. However, the petitioner said he paid them Rs 100 and got his bike from their custody.
Later, some people who were witnesses of the whole scene told him that the contractor was illegally charging money. He said approached the officials concerned but to no avail.
The petitioner pleaded the court to direct police for registration of criminal case against the respondents including Divisional Superintendent, Station Master and No-parking contractor and other two unknown persons accused of illegally minting money from the public.
The Registrar office accepted his plea and fixed it before Additional District and Sessions Judge Tariq Mahmood Zargham for Thursday (today).
