Four more medical colleges likely

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting which reviewed the progress of the projects of Mobile Health Units and setting up of four new medical colleges in the province. Chairman Planning and Development, Secretary Health, Secretary Finance and Director General Health attended the meeting. The meeting was told that PC-1 for the buildings of medical colleges of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal and DG Khan have been approved, whereas more mobile health units would be got soon. Chairman P&D and Secretary Health informed about the progress of projects of mobile health units and medical colleges. Talking on this occasion, he said that mobile health units are playing an important role for providing medical facilities to the people of far flung areas at their door-step and these units are equipped with modern diagnostic and medical facilities. He directed that the work on the project of setting up four new medical colleges should be expedited and the process of getting more mobile health units should also be completed speedily. Moreover, Shahbaz Sharif has directed the police authorities for making foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Eidul Azha. He said that special security arrangements should be made at Eidgahs, mosques, imam bargahs, shopping plazas, markets and recreational places and senior police officers should carryout patrolling for reviewing security arrangements in their respective areas.
