Man kills sister over property dispute

LAHORE - A 24-year-old divorced woman was gunned down by her brother over some property dispute in Shahdara police precincts on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Nazia Bibi, resident of Chira Stop, Shahdara. Police said the victim was living with her parents after her husband divorced her a few months back. Rab Nawaz, deceased father, gave one of his property to Nazia due to which Akram, her elder brother, was angry and scuffled with Nazia and threatened her to transfer that property to him otherwise he would kill her, an on duty police officer said. Sources said that the accused Akram along with three brother-in-laws of Nazia came to his house and again asked her to sign the property papers which she refused, upon which he shot her twice and fled from the scene. The woman suffered multiple wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she breathed her last. An FIR had been lodged against Akram and three others on the complaint of deceaseds father Rab Nawa. No arrest was made till filing of this report. Later, police shifted the body to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
