The Punjab government has banned transportation of old tyres out of Lahore. In the wake of dengue virus here in the city and other cities of Punjab, the provincial government under section 144 has imposed a ban on transporting old tyres out of the City. The decision was taken in a meeting held to review a campaign against dengue fever here on Thursday. Chairing the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif said the private hospitals showing good performance would be given appreciation certificates. He said steps taken by Wasa and Solid Waste Management with regard to eliminating dengue virus would be monitored.Punjab chief secretary told the meeting that the ban had been imposed for one month.
