LAHORE - A Judicial Magistrate on Friday granted bail to 13 Punjab University (PU) students belonging to Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) accused of attempt to murder, torture and detaining two PU professors and setting ablaze public properties including a transport bus.
Meanwhile, a Model Town Court Magistrate has extended three-day physical remand of six other students of PU. The court has directed police to produce students again by December 9th alongwith the investigation report till that date.
Punjab Police arrested around 22 Punjab University students of IJT for thrashing a university teacher and violating rules and regulations of university. These arrests sparked violent protests by IJT activists in the City.
