PU organises annual training workshop


LAHORE - Punjab University Department of Islamic Studies organised third annual two-day training workshop for Pakistani students studying in Saudi universities while a large number of PU students of MPhil/PhD also participated in the event.
Lectures on important current issues of the modern world were delivered during the workshop. On this occasion students were provided a platform to discuss educational ideas and problems with the students of Islamic University of Madinah, Umm al-Qura University Mecca, King Saud University Riyad and Al-Imam University Riyad.
Dean and Chairman Department of Islamic Studies Prof Dr Hafiz Mahmood Akhtar, Hamid Kamal-ul-Din, Dr Mohammad Saad Sadiqui, Prof Ghali Atta, Department of Islamic Thought and Civilization UMT Chairman Prof Qari Mohammad Azmat and Jamia Lahore Al-Islamia Dr Hafiz Hassan Madni delivered research oriented lectures.
 The purpose of this workshop was to equip students with the knowledge of educational development and knowledge and thought of the modern era. Saudi students’ representative Abdul Rahim al-Shamsan appreciated the efforts of PU department of Islamic Studies for organizing this fruitful event and expressed hope that such events will be held in future.  
Certificate distribution ceremony:  Punjab University Center for Clinical Psychology in collaboration of Half Way House (Dar ul Sakoon) Social Welfare Department Punjab on completion of one year Internship programme organised a certificate distribution ceremony.
Secretary Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mall Department Sardar Akram Javed and Director Centre for Clinical Psychology and Chairperson Applied Psychology Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar were guests of honor on the occasion.
A mime was presented by members of Dar ul Sakoon and by the trainee clinical psychologists from Centre for Clinical Psychology. Later, gifts were distributed among members of Dar ul Sakoon by Dr Rukhsana Kousar and certificates were distributed among trainee Clinical Psychologists by Chief Guest Sardar Akram Javed.
