Govt fails to deliver: Nizami

LAHORE - I have great respect and love for the Pakistan Army as they are guarding the boundaries of country.
These views were expressed by The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid Nizami while talking to a students’ delegation of University of South Asia on Tuesday. The delegation led by Arifa Subha Khan.
Replying to a query, The Nation Editor-in-Chief said he always raised voice for democracy in the country. “Incompetent leadership invites martial law but democracy is far better than dictatorship. Every institution should remain in its limits,” he added.
Dr Majid Nizami said that we should avoid such circumstances which led to martial law. He lauded Army Chief Raheel Sharif’s statement about democracy.
Answering another question about the government, Dr Nizami said that the present government failed to deliver. The PML-N government disappointed the masses as they take to streets for their rights. He said that it would depend on the performance of the government whether it would complete its term or not.
Talking about external and external threats to Pakistan, The Nation Editor-in-Chief said that Pakistan is still strong despite all odds. “We desperately want good leadership which will bring the country out of crisis,” he added.
Talking about Geo-ISI clash, the veteran journalist said it was not a good omen for media. It was the Geo TV which started this episode.
Answering another query about the policy of Nawa-i-Waqt Group, he said he always supported Nazaria-e-Pakistan through his publications.
