LAHORE - Taking notice of abduction of a four month old baby from Jinnah Hospital on Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has sought a report from Advisor on Health Kh Salman Rafiq and Secretary Health Dr Ijaz Munir.
Samina, a resident of Sahiwal, brought her four month old child to OPD of Jinnah Hospital for check up. An unknown woman, posing as an employee of the hospital, told Samina that she could not go to the doctor’s room. She took the baby and disappeared. When she did not return back, Samina protested. Police reached the OPD and took the CCTV footage for identification of women and her accomplices. As per Police, the woman and her accomplices have been identified and special teams have been constituted for the recovery of the child.
Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Rauf said that a committee has been constituted to probe the incident. He said that the committee would submit report within 48 hours. He said that the management could not be held responsible as the incident took place in OPD and not Indoors.
