Three die on road

LAHORE  - At least three people died and 25 others wounded in two different roads mishaps in Lahore on Thursday, police said. The motorway police and Edhi ambulances shifted the victims to nearby hospitals.
The first accident took place near Suggian Bridge when a Raiwind-bound bus smashed into another lorry because of over speeding. As a result, at least 18 persons sustained serious injuries. They were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, where three men were pronounced as brought dead.  The deceased, identified as Abdul Waheed, 70, Haji Muhammad, 65, and Jehanzeb Khan, 35, were going to Raiwind to attend the annual preaching congregation.
Meanwhile, 10 people were wounded when a Lahore-bound bus collided with another near Faizpur Interchange. The motorway police rescued the victims and shifted them to the Jinnah Hospital.  The police have impounded and are investigating after registering cases against the bus drivers.
