Fever scares many more

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The menace of dengue fever continued to haunt the masses across the province especially in the City with more and more suspects pouring in public sector and private healthcare centres for diagnosis and treatment. The provincial dispensation continued to fulfil its responsibility by merely issuing advisory regarding precautionary measures and symptoms of dengue fever without taking concrete measures to curb the menace. In addition to that, the Punjab Health department continued efforts to downplay the issue by misleading the masses through wrong data of number of dengue patients and deaths at public sector and private hospitals due to the disease. On Tuesday, three more dengue patients lost their lives at different public sector and private hospitals in the City, bringing the death toll to 10. Muhammad Sarwar died at Shalimar Hospital, Sajid Ilyas at Services Hospital while another person lost his life at a private clinic due to Dengue fever. As many as 86 persons were tested positive for dengue fever and out of these 53 were admitted to various public sector and private healthcare centres.
