LAHORE - The provincial authorities have decided to centralize the computerized driving license system in order to facilitate the applicants across the Punjab province. Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Sohail Chaudhry told reporters on Monday that the traffic police would issue the licenses with same design and features in all districts of the province. The provincial police in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board have launched the project, to be completed within three months, to ensure online verification of the licenses with sophisticated features. The Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khan Baig has given the task to Lahore CTO Sohail Chaudhry for centralized driving license to be established at par with international standards. “The experts are working on this project and we are hopeful that the new computerized and centralized system would be installed within three months,” said Sohail Chaudhry. Posting: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khan Baig on Monday ordered the posting of Afzaal Ahmad Kauser as district police officer (DPO) Sheikhupura. A notification to this effect was also issued. Meanwhile, Altaf Ahmad Gondal, awaiting posting, was transferred and posted as Faisalabad SP (RIB) and Abdul Qadir Qamar was posted as SP (In-Service Training Wing) Police College Sihala.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
