Meera's sister acquitted

LAHORE - An anti terrorism court on Saturday acquitted sister of film actress Meera and a lady involved in child ki-dnap case lodged by Asma Zah-ra, wife of actresss brother. Earlier, investigation wing of Defence-A police station submitted a cancellation of case report before the court stating that the arrested ladies had no role in child kidnap. Police said it would not oppose if court acquits the accused ladies. At this the court issued release orders for Shaishta alias Guria, sister of Meera, and Adeeba Bibi and also quashed the case registered against them. According to details, Asma Zahra submitted that she married to Meeras brother Ahsan Abbas seven years ago and had a son Murtaza out of this wedlock. She said Ahsan used to torture her and one day he kicked her out from house along with the four months old baby. On June 4 2010 Ahsan, his brother Hussain Abbas accompanied by armed men attacked her parents house and took away the child. Police arrested the accused ladies following strict directions of LHC Chief Justice on a habeas corpus petition filed by Asma for the recovery of her child from illegal custody of Ahsan Abbas.
