Wet weather foreseen

LAHORE - Parts of the country received scattered showers on Wednesday.  Scattered rain-thundershower occurred in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Quetta divisions and Kashmir.
The experts have predicted more rains with intervals during the next couple of days. Chilas remained the hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 42 degree Celsius. Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 33 C and 22 C. relative humidity in the evening was recorded 66 per cent. People avoided unnecessarily coming out, reducing traffic on otherwise busy arteries at noon and in the afternoon. Lahore Canal, as usual, attracted a latge number of people including women and children. Not only youth but also elderly people were seen bathing in the canal. At certain places even women were seen beating the heat by taking a dip in the mud coloured water.
According to the experts, seasonal low lies over Northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas. Monsoon currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating into upper and central parts of the country.  Local meteorological department has forecast rain-thundershower at scattered places of upper Punjab (Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha divisions), Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Hazara, D I Khan, D G Khan division and at isolated places of Faisalabad, Peshawar, Malakand divisions during the next couple of days. Heavy falls are also expected at a few places of Kashmir, Hazara, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala divisions.
