LAHORE  - Nazaria Pakistan Trust Vice-Chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad said that it was the former The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid Nizami who had the courage to speak against mighty rulers.
The NPT vice-chairman expressed these views at Hamdrad Centre while addressing a condolence reference in memory of Majid Nizami. He loved the Pakistan Movement workers and had a great respect for them as he himself remained an active worker of the movement, Rafique added.
Daily Nawa-i-Waqt Deputy Editor Saeed Asi said that Majid Nizami was a national asset who lived a life of a soldier. He was not only a star journalist but also a thinker who fought for ideological boundaries of the country. He worked for Two-Nation Theory even in his old age.
The death anniversary of Dr Majid Nizami should be observed on national level, Asi opined. Besides running one of the biggest media groups, Dr Majid Nizami had also established many other forums like Nazaria Pakistan Trust, Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan, Hameed Nizami Press Institute of Pakistan and many others. Aiwan-i-Iqbal was his initiative and Aiwan-i-Quaid-i-Azam was also nearing its completion that was his dream, he added.
Red Crescent Society Secretary Brig Saleem said that Dr Majid Nizami was an active worker of Pakistan Movement. The veteran journalist taught the teachings of Islam and democracy, he added.
The Naunihal Assembly also passed a resolution in which they condoled with the Nawa-i-Waqt Group, NPT and his family and prayed for his soul. The resolution also demanded the government to include articles on late Dr Majid Nizami in the syllabus, Nazaria Pakistan be included as a complete subject, Nazariati Summer School should be introduced in other cities.
Later, special prayer for the late journalist concluded the sitting.
