LAHORE - The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has started Polio Awareness Campaign by organising walks in all nine towns of the City on Sunday just a day before the three-day-long anti-polio drive which is going to commence from December 8 (today).The purpose of walks was to include all segments of society in the polio drive, so as their participation would bring fruitful results in eliminating polio virus from the city in particular and from the country in general. In this regard, Nisther Town Administration took out an awareness walk which was headed by MPA Ramzan Bhatti, Rana Mubassir and Senior Admin Officer Tariq Manzoor Chantio. A large number of town advisory committee members and people belonging to different walks of life participated in the walk that was ended at Lahore General Hospital. The participants also distributed pamphlets inscribed with polio awareness messages among citizens.AC Asim Saleem led the walk arranged by Data Gunj Bux Town. Aziz Bhatti Town arranged a walk led by AC Rao Imtaiz and MPAs Malik Abdul Waheed and Waheed Gul. In Samanabad Town, Asfand Yar Balouch and TMO Imtaiz Awan led the polio walk. It started from TMA office Samanbad. Ravi Town, Allama Iqbal Town and Wagha Town took out polio awareness walks from respective offices in which people belonging to different walks of life participated. Shalimar Town also organised a walk led by MPA Ch Shahbaaz Bhatti.
