Experts say Mush can be treated at home

LAHORE - Treatment of all diseases of former president Pervaiz Musharraf as revealed in the initial diagnosis is available in Pakistan and even at the very institution where he is presently admitted, said medical experts, though most of them were not ready to speak on record.
They, however, opined that filthy rich people usually preferred to go abroad even for treatment of minor diseases; and in Musharraf’s case, it is up to the courts to decide if he should be allowed to be taken out of Pakistan for treatment.
Former principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Javed Akram, only leading medical expert who was ready to speak on record, went on to say that all the diseases were normal routine for a person of the age of Pervez Musharraf.
“High calcium and cholesterol level in blood, mental stress, arthritis, frozen shoulder, back problem and others is a routine for people in old age. He can be provided treatment at the very institution where he is admitted. Not only the military but also several civil institutions in the country are well-equipped to provide state-of-the-art facilities for all these diseases,” Prof Javed Akram said.
Besides others, military doctors have diagnosed high calcium level in blood of Pervez Musharraf that could lead to blockage of arteries and many other complications. However, picture could be clear only after carrying out angiography.
Calcium can build up in the inner walls of the arteries along with deposits of fats and cholesterol, causing atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, in the legs and other areas. This plaque deposit can build up over several years, leading to rigid, hardened arteries that are unable to expand properly. This makes it more difficult for blood to flow through the arteries, and the heart must pump with greater force to push blood to the body's cells, leading to cardiovascular diseases. Several types of treatment exist for calcium plaque buildup in the arteries depending on how far the disease has progressed and the health of the patient. In some cases, natural treatments to dissolve calcium in leg arteries can be used alone or in conjunction with other therapies.
There are several classes of arthritis medications that work to control symptoms, prevent joint damage, and improve mobility and function. Basically, there are five categories of arthritis medications: NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), analgesics (painkillers), corticosteroids, DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs), and the newer biologics.
Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is stiffness, pain, and limited range of movement in shoulder that may follow an injury. The tissues around the joint stiffen, scar tissue forms, and shoulder movements become difficult and painful. The condition usually comes on slowly, then goes away slowly over the course of several months or longer. Treatment for frozen shoulder usually starts with NSAIDs and application of heat to the affected area, followed by gentle stretching. Ice and medicines (including corticosteroid injections) may also be used to reduce pain and swelling. And physical therapy can help increase your range of motion.
Stress that continues without relief can lead to a condition called distress -- a negative stress reaction. Distress can lead to physical symptoms including headaches, upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, and problems sleeping. Research suggests that stress can also bring on or worsen certain symptoms or diseases.
