AMS suspended over poor hygienic condition

LAHORE - Secretary Health Punjab Fawad Hassan Fawad, during a surprise visit to the District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Sargodha, has suspended Additional Medical Superintendent (Admn) Dr Khalil Ahmad on the poor hygienic condition in the hospital. He also transferred Pathologist Dr Aziz Ahmad for remaining absent from the duty and directed him to report in the Health Department, immediately. It is worth mentioning that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had received public complaints about the DHQ hospital during his visit to Sargodha on which he instructed secretary health to schedule these surprise visits. The secretary health visited various wards including laboratories, emergency ward and dialysis unit. Fawad Hassan asked the patients regarding the health facilities and provision of free of cost medicine. While talking to the media-men, the secretary assured that the old wards of the hospital which had been declared as dangerous would be demolished within 6 to 8 week as these ward would be reconstructed and completed during the current financial year. He also told that lapsed funds of 2.4 million of emergency would also be retrieved and spent on the purchase of medicine. He assured that an inquiry would be conducted to probe into the supply of 100 KV generators instead of 200 KV.
