APCA pen-down strike

LAHORE All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) observed pen-down strike on Friday to press their demands. On the appeal of APCA, Wild Life departments clerical staff also observed the pen-down strike. APCA office bearer of Wild Life department stated Friday that they would take out a procession on the Mall road to press for their demands if their demands would not met immediately. According to the APCA press release, they were demanding 100 percent increase in their salaries, medical/transport allowances, house rent etc. Meanwhile, APCA continued its protest in front of the University of the Punjab on the 45th day here Friday to press the demand for regularization of the contractual employees of University of Health Sciences. The APCA leaders lamented that University administration instead of considering their genuine demand, had sacked 110 employees which amounts to committing their economic murder. They spoke against Vice Chancellor of the University blaming he had established his monopoly over all the affairs of the institution.
