LAHORE - On the direction of Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Muhammad Anwar, a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of PEF MD Mohyuddin Wani to review the performance of Subject Specialists (SS) working at 24 districts of the province. This was decided in a departmental meeting held in the office of Chairman Punjab Education Foundation here on Friday. Other members of the committee included DMD (O) Tanvir Zaffar, CPDP Director Maleeha Batool and FAS Director Nadeem Masood. The meeting was informed that subject specialists were responsible for teaching the students and their teachers in the subjects of English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The purpose of deputing SS in science subjects is to improve education quality and understanding of the partner school students in these subjects. The committee would complete its deliberations for evaluation process of subject specialists by the mid of this month, the meeting decided. The meeting was also apprised that pursuing the aim of promoting quality education through public-private partnership, PEF-CPDP, in collaboration with the British Council, had arranged a six-day capacity building training session for TICSS English subject specialists from 24 districts. The focus of training, to be held in mid-May, would be improvement of pedagogical skills, building trust and confidence of teachers and preparation of low-cost supplementary teaching material. The meeting was further informed by the IT department that new software for storing students information had been prepared and being supplied to the partner schools for keeping their students record.
