OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed opinion that in order to steer the country out of crisis, the nation will have to help itself since no one will come for the succour of the nation. We are facing huge problems but living nations face the challenges bravely and ultimately achieve their destinations. The solution lies in the Islamic teachings. The Quran and Hadith are source of guidance, and the nation can get rid of those problems by following the life of Holy Prophet (SAW), he said, while urging that in order to move ahead, terrorism would have to be eliminated while supremacy of justice to be upheld. He also asked the Ulema of all sects to come forward and play their historic role for creating unity, brotherhood and religious harmony in the present circumstances. He was addressing the Ulema and Mashaikh at CMs Secretariat here on Saturday. Minister Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MNA Pir Imran Ahmad Shah, MPA Pir Nizamuddin Sialvi, Chairman Mutthahida Ulema Board Pir Amin-ul-Hasnaat, Allama Pir Syed Mazhar Saeed Kazmi and Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah and other Ulema were present on the occasion. Addressing the Ulema, the CM said enemy was bent upon weakening Pakistan and extremism and terrorism were causing hatred. Recent incidents have brought bad name to the country, while Pakistan has been humiliated all over the world. We need to foresee the things to come to realise that how foreign powers wanted to enslave nation, he said, adding that the country had been landed in difficulties and ordeals but it had always been the practices for the Muslims to overcome the challenges. It is clear that terrorism will have to be eliminated for putting the country on the road to progress. Supremacy of socio-economic justice, reducing the gap between the rich and the poor and equitable distribution of resources will have to be ensured. Although it is the foremost responsibility of the politicians and government to guide the nation yet the role of Ulema is of historic nature in the present circumstances and they will have to play such a role for the security and existence of the country as would be written in the golden words in the history. Ulema of all schools of thought should sit together and prepare such an agenda for the solidarity of the country through which country might be steered out of the crisis and difficulties, he asked. We are the followers of same God, same Holy Prophet (SAW) and same Holy Book. No Muslim can ever think of shedding blood of innocent people in shrines, Imam Bargaaz and mosques. We will have to be united on the platform of Ittehad Ban-ul-Muslimeen and promote the sentiment of brotherhood, unity and tolerance in the sermons. If it is not done, history will never forgive all, he observed. Pir Syed Mazhar Seed Kazmi assured that Ulema would play their due role for security and existence of the country and would extend all possible cooperation to the government for this purpose. He also lauded the services of CM for promotion of religious harmony and brotherhood in the province. The Ulema termed CMs speech comprehensive and logical one.
