Security guard killed in dacoity bid

LAHORE - Some unidentified accused had murdered a 52-year-old security guard after he offered resistance during a dacoity bid at Ahlo Road in Kahna police precincts in the wee hours of Tuesday, police sources said. The deceased, identified as Ashraf was a retired army officer, and was recently working as security guard in a private company. The body was found from Ahlo Road near a leather factory at about 6:15am on Tuesday. Police said that someone informed the police about a body lying at the said place. A police officer, after visiting the site, said that the identity of the accused was yet to be ascertained. He received three bullets; one at his head, one at right arm while another at his belly. One bicycle was also recovered lying beside the body. He, however, avoided to respond properly when asked either it was a dacoity-cum-murder. Kahna police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Ahmed said that apparently it seemed the deceased was killed over old enmity but nothing could be established before seeking any tangible evidence. Police have registered a case (895/10) against unknown accused with no arrest till the filing of this report. Further investigations were underway.
