LAHORE - Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Raja Riaz on Wednesday held Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif responsible for abduction of Shahbaz Taseer, saying that old personal enmity of Sharifs with the slain Governor of Punjab might be the reason behind the kidnapping incident. Talking to the media at the residence of partys Lahore General Secretary Akbar Khan, where he had gone to offer his condolence over the death of his mother, the opposition leader suspected that Mian Shahbaz Sharif was involved in the kidnapping of Shahbaz Taseer in one way or the other. Expressing his dissatisfaction over the slow pace of investigation of the kidnapping case, Raja asked the chief minister to clear his position in this regard during the upcoming Punjab Assembly session. To a question, he said that chief minister Punjab needed to be examined for different diseases apart from dengue virus. I appeal to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to replace Shahbaz Sharif with some saner person, he remarked, adding that it was necessary to save the people of Punjab from the misrule of present chief minister. To a question if he was with Zulfiqar Mirza or Interior Minister Rehman Malik, the opposition leader said he was with President Asif Ali Zardari.
