Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning & Development Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that the relief operation for flood affectees have been further accelerated so that maximum affectees could be provided basic necessities of life. During the visit of flood affected areas of Muzaffargarh, the Minister said that provision of immediate relief to the flood affectees is our national responsibility and all political as well as religious parties besides NGOs should come forward for this purpose. He said that relief operation for affected people is a great challenge and foreign aid is dire need to overcome this challenge. He said that a comprehensive fund raising campaign should be immediately launched for the relief of flood affected people. He said that relief activities are being carried out by the government in flood hit areas on war footings basis as all departments have been made alert and vibrant in this regard. He said that along with government organizations, people from various walks of life should come forward for providing relief to the flood affectees. He said all available resources are being utilized for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees. He further disclosed that government has stared relief activities in the flood hit areas on a larger scale and elected representatives are also participating in relief activities.
